Should I not have updated Xcode 7.0 ? Some of the tutorials seem to behave different since updating.

println appears to be an error now I have to type print instead. That's just one example. Is there a way to download previous version?

Xcode 7 comes with Swift 2, a lot of (awesome) changes have been made there. In my opinion, you not only should, but have to update if you want to learn Swift. Swift is a quite young language, and things will change while it evolves.

As you said, most of the material available here refers to Swift 1.2, as Swift 2 has only been released to the public a week or two ago. Have a look at the teachers notes, they should tell you what has been changed.

Moreover, there's a Treehouse workshop video, What's new in Swift 2.0

Always a good read: Ray Wenderlich, What's new in Swift 2
