JavaScript React Components (2018) Managing State and Data Flow Adding Items to State

Shouldn't handleAddPlayer use a function to pass the prev. state value to the spread operator?

When using the spread operator in the array when adding new players, isn't the first element (the spread operator) referencing a previous state value? Shouldn't it look something like this:

handleAddPlayer() { this.setState( (prevState) => ( players: [ ...prevState.players, { // newPlayer info... }, ], )); }
