JavaScript React Components (2018) React Component Patterns Validate Props with PropTypes

Shouldn't you use --save-dev to install prop-types?

Since propTypes is only checked in development mode, isn't it better to use npm install --save-dev prop-types? Or does npm run build not render out the PropTypes?

As stated in the here:

"The short answer would be for module authors - if, as an author, you want to publish your TypeScript package to NPM and the dependencies are in the development section, no one will be able to install it and use it without having to manually install your types dev dependencies."

Other than that I don't know why you wouldn't do --save-dev
