Some of the brackets like {}[] do not work in my workspace. They simply won't be typed. What do?

If it can help, I have a German keyboard. However, the same brackets work great in any other place (e.g. here). Any ideas?

Thank you!

Workspaces may dislike your keyboard or system language. Supposing you don't have another keyboard to try, you could perhaps install a keyboard language (the process depends on your OS) and toggle between/use that keyboard layout within workspaces, or maybe you could try the onscreen virtual keyboard that's built into your OS and see if the brackets work when entered that way. I suppose a copy/paste would grow tiresome and using a text replacement/expansion program would be a bit excessive, but those are options too.
