spacing in CSS rules, do they matter?

Does spacing play a role as far as stuff like this:

.main-header { font-size:72px; }

or would it be

.main-header { font-size: 72px; }

Also I recall using an equals sign instead of : sometimes...

font-size=72px;

No, these spaces don't matter but it's easier to read the code if you put space after : just like in real life :).

You only put = sign when you add values in the html. In CSS you always use :

Spacing between properties and values doesn't matter. Spacing between selector items does matter.

And property names are always followed by a colon, never an equal sign.
