I can't seem to solve the problem. My code works, but it keeps telling me I have an error?
def square(number):
return (number * number)
total = int(input("What number would you like to square? "))
squared = square(total)
print("The square of {} is {}".format(total, squared))

229,644 PointsYour code "works", but it does something different from what the instructions asked for:
- they say "call your new function and pass it the argument 3" — they mean as a literal, not by using
input - they also say "create a new variable named result to store the value ...", but you've created "squared" instead
- then instructions also don't ask you to
printanything

212 PointsI just went back and read the whole thing properly, it's only asking me to define the function and hasn't even asked me to complete it yet.
I removed everything but the function and it's passed me.

I'm looking through the lines but to me it looks like I have ended my line by closing the brackets?
