I had to separate the commands into 4 steps to pass the challenge using margin-top, margin-bottom, margin-right, etc.

It may be asking you to set ONLY the top margin to 0, in which case you'd need margin-top: 0; instead of setting no margin to the top AND bottom. I've not done this track, do cannot be 100% sure - give it a try.

it says to remove the bottom and top and have the left and right at 10px

You didn't add a period (.) or hash (#) to your nav which defines that you want to target a class or id named nav.

Select the unordered list nested inside the nav element. Remove the margins on the top and bottom. Set the margins on the left and right to 10px.

You need to do nav ul { styles here } if you want to remove the margin of the unordered list within the nav tag.

the UL!!!!! THANKS!

nav ul{ list-style: none; margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px; margin-bottom: 0px; }

This worked for me nav ul { list-style: none; margin: 0 10px 0 10px; }
