Start a long-term partnership

Hello, I would like to know if there is some place on Treehouse to start a long-term partnership. I see we are all here to learn and work on what we love: design + code. There are a lot of users here ready to create startups: social apps, mobile apps, websites, games and more! How we can start working together? I share this link to express what I am looking for: http://fwdmarket.com

Let's make something good!

Hey, Vanessa.

I'd love to talk to you about what you learned getting your CS degree sometime. I'm completely self-taught and I don't really want to get a degree now that I'm older, but I would love to know what topics I need to brush up on to round out my education.

Would you be up for a conversation sometime? What's the best way to contact you?

Hey, Rosina.

I love your enthusiasm. And the world needs people with your passion.

But please be careful when you're dealing with partnerships. I've seen some good people end up in nasty situations because they chose the wrong partner.

A partnership can work, but you've got to choose your partners carefully and make sure your communication is crystal clear.

I've never seen a "let's get together and design something cool" approach actually work. It always ends in frustration for everyone involved.

The biggest problem I've noticed is you attract a lot of people who love the idea of working on the project, but very few people who actually will work on the project.

And people can get really nasty when money is involved and they feel wronged.

If you really want to do something like this, I suggest you start with a strong vision for your project already in place. It will help you attract the right people.

You're already a kick-ass visual designer, so come up with a cool project you want to build out. Crank out some wireframes and mock-ups to get people excited about the project and show them you're serious about working on it.

Then start looking for the other talent you need to complete the project. When you find someone that actually works on the project, keep them. Get rid of the rest.

If you want to talk more about it, send me an email at roypenrod123@yahoo.com .

Wow, great advice, thanks Roy.

Hi Roshina! If you have a specific project in mind I would love to talk about it and see if we could be a good fit!
