1,246 Pointsstarting out with front end web dev track...please help...
I've been going through the first course of the track "creating a website". I am almost finished with it. Im on the part of styling the contact page in CSS. From what I can tell, after this initial course, I will then go into more CSS courses. Has anyone else gotten this far and feels as if they are lacking in basic HTML? I''ve tried going to an editor to make up a simple one page website on my own, and I get lost after setting up the page... I'm wondering if after this first course in the track if I should go back and just start with the HTML course, and then come back to resume the track... Or, am I being impatient?

4,315 PointsHi Chad - you will continue to be introduced to newer HTML elements throughout that track - so I would say stick the course, also CSS is as important as the HTML side of things if you want to become a front end developer. If you want to work on your HTML tags etc check out some of the documentation on sites like MDN - this has reference to all the HTML5 tags you can use to develop a website and should better increase your skills - I think it also gives examples of how to use them.
Hope this helps.

1,246 PointsI'll probably go that route. I have looked back at some of the coding for building a website, and have forgotten what some of it is, or what it even does.

24,404 PointsJust stick with it. Some of the things I study can take a few weeks to really sink in. You'll get there. Keep practicing, also. Get a text editor and start making some pet projects of your own. It really helps you find your strengths and weaknesses. It's also important to realize that nobody remembers every little thing. Personally, I frequently have to go back and confirm that a certain function/property/attribute/whatever actually does what I think it does. If there's not a good answer on Treehouse, a Google search can yield some useful results pretty quickly.

1,246 PointsSomething else i might want to mention. I have a full time job with a family and kids. My time has been limited to lunch hours, and an hour here and there at night. I've been going through the course for a week now. Not sure if this might be the problem, having to start and stop the course.
