6,037 PointsStuck on initialization of struct in Object-Oriented challenge
I am not getting any complaints from my Swift editor, but the challenge is not recognizing my initialization: struct RGBColor { let red: Double let green: Double let blue: Double let alpha: Double let description: String
init (red: Double, green: Double, blue: Double, alpha: Double,
description: String) {
self.red = red
self.green = green
self.blue = blue
self.alpha = alpha
self.description = description
}
}
struct RGBColor {
let red: Double
let green: Double
let blue: Double
let alpha: Double
let description: String
// Add your code below
init (red: Double, green: Double, blue: Double, alpha: Double,
description: String) {
self.red = red
self.green = green
self.blue = blue
self.alpha = alpha
self.description = description
}
}

71,830 PointsGood start, but description needs to be initialized to a String that uses String interpolation to display the values of the color and alpha properties:
init(red: Double, green: Double, blue: Double, alpha: Double) {
self.red = red
self.green = green
self.blue = blue
self.alpha = alpha
description = "red: \(red), green: \(green), blue: \(blue), alpha: \(alpha)"
}

iOS Development Techdegree Student 1,096 PointsI was stuck on this part too. Now with the answer below it seems a little obvious (doh!). The way the code was initially presented, it didn't look like --
let description: String
--was part of the struct. So I went about sticking description in different places wondering why it wasn't working with code like --
let description: String = "(RGBColor(red: init.red, green: green, blue: blue, alpha: alpha))"
or
description: String = "(RGBColor(red: 86.0, green: 191.0, blue: 131.0, alpha: 1.0))"
I was placing this outside of init but within the struct. No wonder it didn't work.
