Styling JQuery-Alert Boxes

Does anyone know if there is a tutorial or a snippet video somewhere here on treehouse on customizing the alert box? By default, the Google Chrome styling is ugly. Any info? I'm working on a Ruby app and need to make it look nice with Twitter Bootstrapt and JQuery,

Thanks!

Do you mean the browser alert window or a Bootstrap modal? If it's the former, to my knowledge, I don't think the alert window is able to be skinned or modified.

I have an app thats been styled with Bootstrap, so that means that I have to stick with the default Chrome alert styling?

If your app is using something similar to JavaScript's alert("Show error message!"); and if you are not able to edit the code (although I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to, unless possibly a mobile app) then yes (again, as far as I am aware).

Treehouse has general courses, nothing as specific as using one particular framework.

Bootstrap is just CSS & JavaScript packed up as a "framework" so everything is styleable.

A quick look on github lead me to the Bootstrap LESS files, so take a look at those to see which classes you need to override (or re-write) via LESS (or CSS).

Marco Roman Totally off topic, but I've been Googling Tealeaf, saw your posts, and now see you here! What are your thoughts? I sent an email with questions and am eagerly waiting to hear back!

Hey Aimee, sorry I haven't had a chance to update it and I just remembered that you asked me about that on the blog. I'll go ahead and update that right now, so check it in a few minutes! We're wrapping up our app and I'll also post my heroku link and git repository so that you can get a feel for the 1st course

It wasn't me leaving comments but I'll definitely check your update now. Thanks.

Marco Roman - OK now I'm curious, what's the link to your blog. I'm interested in your experiences with TeaLeaf as well.

Here you go James, I'll check out BS modal 2.0, thanks!
