Swift 2.0 Learning Curve

Ok so I am a complete programming noob! I feel like I am way behind the learning curve because I am having a hell of a time working through the code challenges. Are there like some mini code practice that we can do before the code challenges. I mean I am presented a new set of skills for 10 to 20 mins and then I am given a code challenge. WT*? I have not practiced the process before the challenge. I feel like my brother is teaching me to swim. Step 1 go to the pool. Step 2 get in the water, Step 3 SWIM....See Easy. WRONG!!!!! I am going crazy here can someone provide me direction here. I thought about the TechDegree course but screw that it would be like me throwing money out the window if it is still the same over my head lessons and challenges. Need help, need some direction.

Swift 2.0 is a semi difficult language if you have absolutely no programming background. I would recommend starting with another language such as Python or Java (at least to get the basics!). These languages have been around much longer and there is much to be said for that. I started with Java myself and I feel like that is a good way to start, but python is becoming so popular as a first language that it can't be neglected in this discussion. Good luck!
