Swift + iOS : How and where to store database?

Hello, I've checked all the Swift courses, and I don't see any classes about how to store and deal with our data, developing an app. In Objective-C courses, they are talking about Parse. Is Parse the only way to store data? Is it the same with Swift? Where can I learn all this? Thanks for your help!

Hey Emmanuel Darmon,

Sorry I can't provide you with an answer, as I have the same question myself. Have you come across an answer yet? Anyone who is willing to provide some more information on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Thanks Steven for your answer/support. I think it would be great if Treehouse make a full class about this, seems to be really needed to make an "advanced" app where users create accounts with informations, etc.

Hey Emmanuel,

I'm not far enough along with Swift to watch these yet but I saved the links to watch later. Maybe you'll find something of use:

iOS SDK SQLite Building Data Driven Apps

Core Data for iOS and OS X

Thanks Steven! Actually there is this course on TreeHouse which can be useful in that way: https://teamtreehouse.com/library/build-a-selfdestructing-message-iphone-app/using-parsecom-as-a-backend-and-adding-users/creating-an-account-and-app-on-parsecom

But this is with Obtective-C and not Swift.

I found the answer to my own question! :) Actually, I asked to Pasan (iOS teacher on Treehouse) on Twitter and here is his answer: @emmanueldarmon we do have plans for Parse, CloudKit and Core Data but it’ll probably be early next year before we can release it. So now, Steven Deutsch we must wait... :)

There is no waiting! Certainly not till next year!!! Several weeks and Google is my method
