Syntax error with quotation marks

Hello, I dont know whats wrong with the code.

I copied Craig's code but it doesnt work:

def show_help():
    print("What should we pick up at the store?")
    print(""
Enter 'DONE' to stop adding items.
Entr 'HELP' for this help.
"")

show_help()

while True:
    new_item = input("> ")

    if new_item == "DONE":
        break
    elif new_item == 'HELP':
        show_help()
        continue

When I run it I get the following error:

File "shopping_list.py", line 4
Enter 'DONE' to stop adding items.
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

The error is caused be the multi-line string. It should be bound by triple quote ””” not double quotes ””.

Post back if you need more help. Good luck!!!

You probably mean something like this:

def show_help():
   print("What should we pick up at the store?")
   print("Enter 'DONE' to stop adding items. Enter 'HELP' for this help. ")

you don't need 2 " on each side
