Task 1 is no longer passing, not sure why this throws an error and doesn't let me pass the quiz

Question:

Combine the sundaes list into a new variable named display_menu, where each item in the list is rejoined together by a comma and a space (", "). Then reassign the menu variable to use the existing variable and .format() to replace the placeholder with the new string in display_menu. If you're really brave, you can even accomplish this all on the same line where menu is currently being set.

Code:

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white" sundaes = available.split(';') menu = "Our available flavors are: {}." display_menu = sundaes.join(', ') menu.format(display_menu)

Error: Oops! It looks like Task 1 is no longer passing.

your code looks ok, you're just using join backwards. join is called on the delimiting string you want to go between the elements you are joining, with the collection of elements as argument, so like ', '.join(collection).

I did use the join like the way you said in the first attempt and it did throw the same error, that's when I twisted it a little bit and still the same error!

can you repost what you tried (if you are still on this one)? you can format code with three backtick ` characters (not the single quote) before and after your code
