Tech Job Without College

So I'm currently taking the Python Tech Degree. I want to be able to get a job after I finish. What else should I be studying in addition to what's on the tech degree path so I can make that happen?

Hi Garrett!

My advice would be to work hard to become comfortable in what you learn in your techdegree, if you feel comfortable with what you've learned and at the same time put a lot of hard work into your projects that will increase your chances a lot. Always do the Exceeds Expectations requirements, as in the end those projects are what will help you get a job.

Yes, there will always be more to learn, and after completing the techdegree you might end up on a project that needs you to learn something new. Learning will always be a part of the job. But for now my advice would be: focus on the techdegree, work hard on the projects and try to help your peers with theirs. This way you will improve a lot and end up with a nice portfolio showcasing your skills.

If you find that you manage to get some spare time to study something else, I would recommend reading up on algorithms as questions involving them tend to pop up on interviews.

I hope that helps
