Techdegree - time between submissions, can you go to next project while waiting?

I'm getting ready to sign up for the Android Techdegree and have a couple questions:

How long do you have to wait between submitting one project and submitting the next?

Can you see the project specs and work on the other projects while you're waiting for the "cooling off period" between project submissions.

I am going to have A LOT of free time on my hands the next month (and by a lot, I mean I could foreseeably devote 6-12 hours per day, every day to study) and I want, before I sign up to ensure that if I am motoring through the curriculum I can continue progressing even if I complete 6 or more projects in a 4 week period. I'm ok with only being able to submit one or two of them, but I don't want to be sitting around with my thumb stuck somewhere unpleasant because I can't even see the next projects until I wait out the submit cooling off period on the earlier ones.

If there's gating like that on the projects, I'd rather know up front so I can hit Udacity instead - where I know I can progress as fast as I want (during this month where I have nothing to do but study and want to get as much in as I can).

Hi there!

While a project is submitted, you're able to view the projects ahead and begin viewing the pre-requisite course materials (videos, quizzes, Code Challenges). Once you receive a passing grade and have completed all the course work, assuming a week has passed, you can submit your next project. Thanks for your interest, I hope this helps!

Hi Jay!

Quick question:

Say I finish project 1, and I'm on a roll, how many of the additional projects can I see while I'm waiting for that week to pass. If I'm particularly adept and cruising through the projects (because I'm just taking the techdegree as a refresher), and am CAPABLE of finishing 2, or 3, or (heck lets test the crazy edge case) 12 projects in a week, am I going to hit a "you can't see the requirements for this project yet" hurdle once I've completed the "next" project?

Note, I'm not talking about submitting the projects, I know there's a one week cooling off period between submissions. I'm asking - can I see the project specifications and get started CODING the projects.

Thanks :)

Hi Kristin,

If you submitted Project 1, you would only be able to work on up to Project 2. You could see Project 3, 4, 5, etc. but assets and ability to submit will not be present for any of them.

I hope this clears up any confusion. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Rob Allessi,

So you're able to work on the 2nd project while the 1st project is being reviewed?

Can you work on the 3rd and 4th project when the 1st project is still being reviewed, as well?

Or will you be restricted to the content you need etc?

Thank you.

That is correct. You'll be able to work on the other projects, but as mentioned above, you will not be able to submit them for review.

Did it change in the last month? It looks like you were saying you couldn't work on Project 3 while Project 1 was being reviewed a few weeks ago, but now you're saying you can work on the other projects (just not submit them). Can you work on ALL of the projects while you're waiting for the first one to be reviewed? Can you read the project descriptions, access the assets and work through any project you want from day 1. Or, are you barred from accessing later projects while the earlier ones are under review?

Arie Trask you're correct in my initial understanding and statement. As it turns out, this was changed after feedback from our students early on in the program.

To further clarify, as a paying Techdegree student, you have access to all project assets and descriptions from the get-go.

"Once you receive a passing grade and have completed all the course work, assuming a week has passed, you can submit your next project." Thanks Jay, that answers the question I was about to ask.

When you submit a project for review are you submitting actual files or a link to your github account?

It depends on which Techdegree you are on. In most cases, it's a link to your Github.
