Text colour doesn't change.

Hi guys and girls. I'm using Notepad++, which I downloaded recently.

I created a new CSS file called style.css and typed in the code as Nick dictated, but the text colour didn't change to yellow as expected. Here's my HTML:

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"/>
    <title>Smells Like Bakin' Cupcake Company</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://treehouse-code-samples.s3.amazonaws.com/WWIsland1/stage3/css/normalize.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://treehouse-code-samples.s3.amazonaws.com/WWIsland1/stage3/css/grid.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Nunito' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

</head>
<body>
  <div class="container clearfix">
    <div class="grid_4">
      <img src="http://treehouse-code-samples.s3.amazonaws.com/WWIsland1/stage3/img/logo.gif" alt="Smells Like Bakin">
    </div>
    <div class="grid_8 omega">
      <ul class="nav">
        <li><a href="#">About</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Cupcakes &amp; Prices</a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Locations</a></li>
        <li class="last"><a href="#">Contact Us</a></li>
      </ul>
    </div>
    <div id="intro" class="grid_9">
      <h1>Opposites really do attract, especially in our kitchen! We combine unexpected flavors that melt together to create ironically delicious desserts.</h1>
      <p><a href="#" class="btn">Browse Our Cupcakes</a></p>

    </div>

  </div>
  </body>
  </html>

Next, my CSS:

body {
    font-family: 'Nunito', sans-serif;
    color: #FAF3BC;
}

Is there any reason the text isn't changing? Thanks.

All you need to do is copy this below and add it under the title tag in your HTML

            <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen">```

I've copied it and pasted it above the closing head tag and below the font link. Still no change.

You need to link your style.css style sheet to the html page at the top like you have done with normalize.css etc

Does Notepad++ provide a facility for that?

The code Garry Cohen gave you should work as long as 'style.css' is in the css directory. Also, make sure you include your 'style.css' file after 'normalize.css' and 'grid.css'. If you include it before those, there is a chance they may be overriding the values you have in 'style.css'.

After you include normalize.css and grid.css you need to include the style.css. Now you need to know the location of this file if it is the same folder as the html then all you need for your is <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"> but if it is in a folder called css then use the code in Garry Cohen's comment. Also you should probably research absolute and relative paths for including a file.
