Hi Vanessa,

With your document open in TextEdit, press the keys Shift + Command + T all at once. Then, save the document with the file extension .html instead of the .txt file extension, which is the default. This will convert your document to plain text and save it as an HTML document.

If you prefer to use the menus to convert the document to plain text, just go to the Format menu and select the Make Plain Text menu item.

I hope that helps! :)

Thank you Nick, that helped with putting it in Plain Text. I still am unable to see the text.html file on the web with out all the code still in it.

What do I do about that.

Thank you, Vanessa

Thanks Nick, I tried it from square one and I got it to work. Thank you again.

Also, if you want to display file extensions in Finder (which are hidden by default), you can open your Finder preferences, go to the Advanced tab, and select "Show all filename extensions."

This way, in case you accidentally save a file as a .txt, you can rename directly from Finder (from index.txt to index.html, for instance).
