Text Editors

As a newbie I am loving Workspaces and all the little benefits that come with it e.g. predictions, colour view, drag/drop files etc. The only downside I see at this stage is that it requires an internet connection to use. Are there any offline text-editors that this is perhaps based on? Or at least very similar? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I use Sublime Text (70$ but unlimited free trial) and you can find it on www.sublimetext.com. There are others to choose from, but I will say Sublime Text is the most popular.

Hope it helps! ~xela888

Thanks for your reply. What might be the limitations (if any) for the free trial?

There is no limitations, you can take the trial forever.

So a bit like winRAR? Okay great thanks for your suggestion I'll give it a try!

No problem, but if you want a different text editor, you could try Brackets (free).

I've been using the Atom editor (open-source & free) and it's very similar to the workspaces (https://atom.io/). I've also enjoyed working with Notepad++ in the past.

Brackets and Atom are both free and great.

Agree 100% with Karen Freeman-Smith and Niilo Smeds . Sublime is great but I think Brackets and Atom have become the industry standard and recommended editors. I personally use Atom and love it.

I use atom and love it, it has the autocomplete function and color codes things. It is my favorite that I have tried.

Sublime Text is very similar to Atom
