The code below logs all of the even numbers from 2 to 24 to the JavaScript console. However, there's a lot of redundant

I don't understand why I'm getting an endless loop.

script.js
function nextEven(i) {
  if (i === undefined) {
    i = 0;
  }else {
  i += 2;
  }
}

for ( i = 0; i <= 22; console.log(i + "<br>")) {
  nextEven(i);
}

The for-loop is sufficient on its own for this challenge.

for (var i = 2; i <= 24; i +=2){
    console.log(i);
}
