CSS

The code within float clear fix, what does it do?

Specifically what does the following mean: ::after display: table; content: " ";

Thanks, is there a more effective way of creating this effect.

1 Answer

It is effectively placing an empty psuedo element between the floating element and the element it would run into, forcing both away from each other with a "clear: both;"

Not currently implemented by any browser. There are other methods, but this one seems to be the standard.
