Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types list.remove()

The last item in the list is the number 5. My code is { states = states.remove(5) } with out the curly bracket included

Help please

    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',

states = states.remove(5)
