the quiz confuses me. It asks me to point out what command that does not take me home. I think it is $HOME.

please correct me if I'm wrong

In Bash, $HOME is the same thing as typing out ~.

So no, that isn't the answer.

This command doesn't take you to home:

cd /home

Because you have to type the user before it like this:

cd /alexander/home

Me too a little... cd ~ and cd $HOME are environmental/logical and should always work. The other two options, cd /home and cd /home/treehouse are local, and relate to how the directory structure was set up in the previous lesson. They hint that 'your name is treehouse' is correct, which leaves...

I don't seem to be able to make the dollar sign on my keyboard, that might be a glitch. I have a danish keyboard config.
