Android Build an Interactive Story App (Retired) User Input Hiding the ActionBar with an App Theme

Using - android studio 1.1 preview 1

when i try to change the app theme to holo light noactionbar, it throws this error

java.lang.IllegalStateException: You need to use a Theme.AppCompat theme (or descendant) with this activity.

However i fixed it using
<style name="AppTheme" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light.NoActionBar">

in the styles.xml file

In the class file, change "extends ActionBarAcitivty" to "extends Activity".

Thanks that worked perfectly! Been noticing quite a few changes in terms of default settings on this preview 1 version of android studio apart from the ones explicitly stated in the videos.
