PHP The php.ini File

There isn't a phpinfo.php file in my downloads, or on my workspace as shown in the video. Do I need a server to do this?

I'm just taking this course on my laptop, without a system in place for hosting my own websites. Is this the reason why I can't find a phpinfo.php or php.ini file in the workspace? I also don't see anything in the downloads; no files, etc.

Hello,

php.ini is not on workspace, this is a file for config the php compiler behavior, and some other things. I have not take the course yet, but I assume that in previous videos the instructor give you some steps to install a local development environment using xampp/wamp/lamp.

If you have questions feel free to ask.

Regards.

Josh is correct. Alena does specifically say at 1:01 in the video that "I've included a phpinfo.php file in the downloads." When you go to the Downloads link for the video, however, there are only the High Def Video, Standard Def Video, and Video Transcript files.

Creating a local development environment was the best solution I could find. I think the video explaining how to set up MAMP may be missing from this PHP track, or at least it was a few weeks ago.
