This code worked until (print(inStock.join('; ' )); } then any code I add after that does not work.

i can't figure out why this code won't work

var inStock = [ 'apples', 'eggs', 'milk', 'cookies', 'cheese', 'bread', 'lettuce', 'carrot', 'broccoli', 'pizza', 'potato', 'crackers', 'onion', 'tofu', 'frozen dinner', 'cucumber']; var search;

function print(message) { document.write( '<p>' + message + '</p>'); }

while (true) { search = prompt('Search for a product in our store. Type list to show all products. type quit to exit'); if (search === 'quit') { break; } else if (search === 'list') { print (inStock.join('; ' )); } else { if ( inStock.indexOf( search ) > -1) { print( 'Yes, we have ' + search + ' in store.'); } else { print( search + ' is not in stock.'); } }

First of all, your code have no leading curved bracket.

var inStock = ['apples', 'eggs', 'milk', 'cookies', 'cheese', 'bread', 'lettuce', 'carrot', 'broccoli', 'pizza', 'potato', 'crackers', 'onion', 'tofu', 'frozen dinner', 'cucumber'];
var search;

function print(message) {
    document.write('' + message + '');
}

while (true) {
    search = prompt('Search for a product in our store. Type list to show all products. type quit to exit');
    if (search === 'quit') {
        break;
    } else if (search === 'list') {
        print(inStock.join('; '));
    } else {
        if (inStock.indexOf(search) > -1) {
            print('Yes, we have ' + search + ' in store.');
        } else {
            print(search + ' is not in stock.');
        }
    }

And it's start to work. But what is print() method? Is it window.print() method or other function?

Please, mark my comment above as the answer. Thank you. =)

print is what the instructor uses for this video. it is typed word for word.

Look at your code, please. You did not close while { yourCode }

Ah finally I see. Thank you Daniel. Good eye, I was not able to catch that.
