This course needs some more context.

I'm pretty sure we are just writing pseudocode and not getting the actually meaning behind programming which is to solve problems.

Throughout the course we are told to follow the path and take the challenges. I feel dependent on Treehouse if I want to write my own code.

I'm writing code and not getting why half of it works. .. Plus when I try and implement it on my own I forget, and I spent 5-6 hours per day coding with TH,

What are the best beginner resources to learn logic?

Hi, programming is a tough field to hang at, it takes a lot of persistence and practice to get better with time. A lot of people start with taking classes in college, something like programming fundamentals, logic and discrete math, it will help you to create a base for your future knowledge. But some people just read a lot on internet and a lot of references and try, try and try, it is also a good way to become a programmer. Treehouse provides all kind of cool master classes to learn from, if you feel it is too hard you might want to consider taking some easier courses on treeahouse, but it is a wonderful journey, just don't give up
