Hi, Salomon

this course of 90 minutes is neccesary?

Yes, Not only is it necessary, I think Treehouse can use more courses like this one; may it be another 90 mins course on how to use Eclipse IDE for writing Java code; or Learning Xcode for iOS development. Mastering the tool really gives programmer a huge productivity boost.

Due to the fact that students come to Treehouse with all sort of backgrounds, no one course is suitable for everybody here. If you're taking this course as part of the Android Track, and you already knew all the materials covered in this course from inside out; I'd suggest that you go straight into the Quiz & Code Challenge, finishing them would mark the course as completed, it shouldn't take long :)

Its funny, when I first started this 90 minute course I thought the same thing, but I totally agree with William Li . I'm a big fan of Treehouse, but I'd say one of its few downfalls is that it can streamroll into using tools for practice projects etc without taking the time to take a step back and explain the actual tools you are using.

I came across this course whilst going through the Android Development track and essentially knowing everything he was going through, but still found it useful to recap what I've learnt so far and pick up a few handy hints and tips.

Plus if you feel like its going to slow for you, you can always speed up the video! That's what I do sometimes if I feel its going through a section I'm already well aware of.
