my code is this according to each steps:
full_name = ("Jack Johnson") name_list = full_name.split()
the output is: ['Jack', 'Johnson'] it is a list type and has a split right on the space! it doesn't like the [ ] ?? or..........

6,976 PointsRemove the () around your name. You shouldn't need them and it is most likely causing the issue. This works for me.
full_name = 'Victor Learned'
name_list = full_name.split()
