1,568 PointsThis video is very outdated. There was no "ADT" but I get just Eclipse
I went to the Android site and downloaded Eclipse. But instead of the app with the brackets, i have that purple planet looking thing.
When I click to set preferences, i don't have the options shown here.

Treehouse TeacherVery sorry about this. I'm updating the old courses as fast as I can. Which course/video specifically are you having trouble with?

1,568 PointsHi Ben, I was having challenges with the blog reader app. I was able to complete the first part. But the second part(where we are to create from scrtch) has a lot of differences from what I see in eclipse. The package available from android looks very little from what I see in my download. Again, there was no "ADT" it was the regular eclipse.

Treehouse TeacherDid you try downloading the Eclipse ADT bundle from here? http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
I just tried and I see what you mean about it using the purple Eclipse. It looks like the latest ADT bundle uses the regular Eclipse icon and splash screen instead of the specially branded one. It still seems to work the same, though. It has the appropriate Android tools included.
I am sorry about the differences. Going forward I am trying to provide snapshot downloads of the tools I use in the videos to make it easier to follow along, even if newer versions of the tools come out. It's such a struggle with mobile development where things can change a lot in a year! Fortunately the core concepts I'm teaching aren't changing--we just need to adapt to evolved tools.

1,568 PointsAsking thousand of students to take several steps back is not as practical as just updating the video.
Especially if you cannot even get that software from the site mentioned in the video.
