I'm curious why this code fails when it works in Xcode. I've captured all the European capitols. Can someone explain why it's wrong?
var europeanCapitals: [String] = []
var asianCapitals: [String] = []
var otherCapitals: [String] = []
let world = [
"BEL": "Brussels",
"LIE": "Vaduz",
"BGR": "Sofia",
"USA": "Washington D.C.",
"MEX": "Mexico City",
"BRA": "Brasilia",
"IND": "New Delhi",
"VNM": "Hanoi"]
for (key, value) in world {
switch key {
case "BEL", "BGR", "LIE":
europeanCapitals.append(String(world[key]))
case "IND", "VNM":
asianCapitals.append(String(world[key]))
default:
otherCapitals.append(String(world[key]))
}
}

71,830 PointsThey want this:
for (key, value) in world {
// Enter your code below
switch key {
case "BEL","LIE","BGR": europeanCapitals += [value]
case "IND", "VNM": asianCapitals.append(value)
default: otherCapitals.append(value)
}
}
P.S., you can append() or use +=
Both work.

2,263 PointsThanks. I just figured out that I was doing it the hard way. Though my easier answer (albeit correct) is still less elegant than yours.
