Timestamp Ordering

I know tuples are made in * arguments, but i can't think of a cleaner way to do this. Can you help me with my train of thought?

timestamp.py
# If you need help, look up datetime.datetime.fromtimestamp()
# Also, remember that you *will not* know how many timestamps
# are coming in.
def timestamp_oldest(*stamp):
    new_list = [stamp]
    new_list.sort()
    the_date = new_list[-1]
    return the_date.fromtimestamp(60)

Hey I could explain, but on the same question someone else had here

https://teamtreehouse.com/community/create-a-function-named-timestampoldest-that-takes-any-number-ofposix-timestamp-arguments

William Li explained it really well, better than I ever could!
Hope it helps!
