Hi Tunde,

First and foremost, your questions aren't silly but perfectly rational when starting a new job. The first thing and best thing to do is introduce yourself to the reception, what role you're starting at the company as, and who you're reporting to.

When you have that out of the way you will more than likely be taken in the general direction of your desk but typically you'll meet some of your fellow colleagues. In my experience they ask a bit about your background so don't be shy and express your interests in regard to the web and any projects you've worked on be they personal or for a client.

Another important step while been walked around is asking where things are such as the toilets, printers, kitchen etc.

Finally you'll be taken to your desk, it's at this point you will get information about logging into your computer, phone and at some companies links to induction documents.

The best thing to do is go in knowing you're not likely to be given work as generally your first day is just to get you settled, also don't be scared to let your excitement out, those who express theirs generally have happier working days and better social interactions with colleagues.

Have fun, show your real self and you'll do just fine.

Wow thanks for the really detailed reply i'll be taking all this into account :)
