12,365 PointsHey dude!
It's not you, it's the SDK!
The build was just updated to 23.0.1, and it caused a bazillion errors, as the word is that the devs forgot Proguard. Everyone's a little frustrated with this process.
I was talking to some of my friends at Google, and they told me that Eclipse support is pretty much dead. They're trying to get as many devs moved over to Android Studio as soon as possible. I know you're in the beginning stages of your Android Development, but you may want to consider trying Android Studio.
I know both IDE's fairly well, so if you have any questions or concerns, just hit up the forum and I'll try to help you out as much as possible. I was in your shoes back in March when I first started coding!
It's totally frustrating, I feel your pain man! I'm trying to migrate over to Android Studio right now and I'm encountering a ton of problems as well.

6,235 PointsBen Jakuben Thanks Ben! I actually migrated to Android Studio, figured out its kinks, and then got everything to work. Definitely a good idea to use Android Studio moving forward in teaching Android Development since it's pretty much the future! Thank you! :)

6,235 PointsThanks for the comprehensive answer Ben! I actually do have Android Studio installed right now, and have tried it, but there are some times where its hard to copy what the Treehouse video is doing in Eclipse. But I do agree, Eclipse is dying (and Android Studio is beautiful)!

Treehouse TeacherSorry for the trouble here! I'm updating everything to Android Studio, starting with a new version of this course, which should be available within a few weeks.

12,365 PointsBen Jakuben - You are awesome. Thank you for jumping on top of this. I know it must be frustrating for you, as Android is constantly changing (rather quickly too).
I unfortunately had to halt doing Ribbit for sometime, but when it's updated to Android Studio, I'll be all over that.
In the meantime with Parse, the APIs are really easy to understand, and I morphed my own "Ribbit" app into something crazy. I'll shoot you guys an email when it's done!

Treehouse TeacherExcellent! These past 6 months have been challenging for Android instructors, but I think things are in a good place now. I'm also going to provide snapshots of tools so people can use exactly what I use in the videos. That should help somewhat, but if you care enough to update the tools, then you probably care enough to work through any differences that pop up. :)
