Treehouse android app for kindle fire

Anyone tried to download the new android app on kindle fire? Google play says the app is incompatible with my device (kindle fire).

We may need to publish this on the Amazon Appstore to make it easy for Kindle Fire users. Thoughts, Joe Steele?

Hey Ben Stevenson. That's something I have to look into. We wanted to make sure we nailed down the sign up experience before releasing to the Amazon Appstore. Sorry for the inconvenience! :(

Please add me to the list of students eagerly awaiting this on the Amazon Appstore. I'm sure there are plenty of us!

Thanks Joe. Looking forward to using the android app once everything is sorted. Good work!.

Hi Ben, I just put the app on my kindle fire HDX and it was easy.

  1. Just allow 3rd party apps ('apps from unknown sources' under applications)
  2. Install ES file explorer from Amazon app store
  3. Use the web to go to 1mobile market, download it.
  4. Once you have that open it up, search for the treehouse app and download it.

Just follow the prompts along the way and it is very easy. You will need to go to your list of apps and manually add the treehouse app to 'Home' if you want the icon to show up on your home screen. Also, don't forget to turn off apps form unknown sources when you are done. Good luck!

Honestly, I am not even sure if the ES File explorer is necessary in this case (it won't hurt), but it is nice to have visual access to the files on the machine if you are going to be side loading apps, just be careful not to mess with files you are not sure about.
