Hi,
How come the Swedish App Store for iOS does not contain the Treehouse App?
I’d be very grateful if I could download the app without having to change region/country in my App Store.

Treehouse TeacherHi there, Linus! I thought the same thing, too. I'm given to understand that the maintenance of the iOS app has been halted for the time being. But if I have heard incorrectly then I invite staff to rectify my information. Can you confirm this Jay Padzensky ?

4,731 PointsHi Linus,
Jennifer is correct. Development support for the mobile app has been indefinitely suspended, meaning the app has been removed from Google Play/Apple App stores. The underlying reason is that learning to code requires coding, and no mobile device, at this point, creates an ideal environment for this. To get the most out of a subscription with Treehouse, our web app is the most effective method.
Thank you, we appreciate your understanding!

7,402 PointsAha! I understand. I was asking since my iPhone said that I could switch to the Indian App Store in order to download the Treehouse app.
It makes sense that coding should be done on a PC/Mac instead of a mobile device. I was mostly thinking about the community here at teamtreehouse.com, and keeping up to all the discussions here through the app.
Thanks anyways!

47,913 PointsI tend to agree with this assessment, but I also beg to differ. I took many of my first Treehouse courses on my iPad via the app. Apple has a precedent of investing in the iPad as somewhat of a development (but definitely learning-to-code) solution via Swift Playgrounds. I also know that Jennifer Nordell's day job is at a school where every student is given an iPad to learn with, and there are many schools like this in the world. I wholeheartedly agree that an iPhone app doesn't make sense, but distributing an iPad app for Treehouse increases access to the Treehouse platform on a device that has already proven itself as a suitable coding environment, given a solid app

8,562 PointsI have to agree. An iPad application would be very useful and a split screen interface with Lesson on the left and workspace on the left style of design could be advantageous.
Shame to see the app's go frankly.
