33,029 Pointstreehouse audio recording style
I've got to produce a few videos for a help system project. With treehouse each video has 2 distinct audio styles. Initially the audio fx have a roominess reverb to them but when the cut is made to the hands on sequence the audio is monotone. Can someone from treehouse chime in and describe/tell me the names of these filter types? I want to include this in my spec's. Thanks Glenn

I don't work for Treehouse, but I don't believe they are using filters.
When the instructors are there and talking to us, I think they are probably using a boom mic because I don't see one pinned on them. This will give it the 'roomy' air and sound to it.
When they cut to the screen casts, it is probably done in a small office or sound booth, with a stationary mic beside the computer recording them as they go through producing the screen cast. So small room, stationary desk mic won't produce the same type of reverb.
I'm not 100%, but have worked in audio production before and this is what it sounds like to me.

33,029 PointsIt's a neat mix. The two lend themselves well to the sequences. The first part is a general discussion where the scope is typically wide and the roominess of the audio complements that. When they cut to the hands-on part thats more focused and again the audio complements that. Not sure if its intentional or did things just work out that way. Thanks for you input.
