Are we allowed to use projects built on Treehouse in our own portfolios? I am just making sure because I don't want to be committing any sort of copyright.

16,936 PointsI believe so although I would highly recommend you don't especially if you are trying to get hired at an agency. It's one thing to have projects you've created on your own and it's another to follow a "tutorial" and call it your own.
I would suggest that you heavily alter the project you create here so that you aren't like the countless of other students who may be using what they've created on treehouse in their portfolio as well.
Stand out as much as possible. =)

9,148 PointsI recently got my first IT job as a developer, before I interviewed I asked what languages they use so I could make something to show them incorporating all the languages. Which is like tailoring your resume to the job you're applying for.
I also showed them my Treehouse account, which demonstrates taking initiative to learn and ability to pick up lots of varied concepts.
So I suggest a middle road of being open about where you've learned your skills, making something super cool to show off, and making something that demonstrates your ability to use the technologies in the job you want.

25,511 PointsThat's true, I'm sure there are a lot of students here doing that and it won't really show what I can do. Thanks Chyno.

16,936 PointsDon't get me wrong tho, I have nothing against the projects here at Treehouse or the students that are proud of what they accomplish here but strictly in a professional environment, agencies are looking for creative innovators.
Good luck on your journey.
