Treehouse Suggestion

I was wondering if there is any chance of putting some optional text tutorials on some of the content? The videos are great but sometimes it's better to read, with some images attached.

I know there's a blog, but I don't pay for that. Let me know what you think, it's just a suggestion. I can't really watch videos at work but really want to learn!

We just talked about adding blog posts and other non-course content to the Learning Adventures because there is definitely some good supplemental material that should be included as optional, if not required. Look for this to be added in the future!

@bendog24 I don't like the idea of it being required. I would prefer it to be an alternative to the video when I feel like reading (or for printing out for reading later), but most of the time I prefer the video. But great suggestion!

In that same vein, I think it might be a good idea to attach "show notes" with some of the videos which outline the new material covered in the video. That way, users can have some extra resource material if they need it.

Granted, I realize there are project files with every video, but say for example I remember Guil's saying something about a particular CSS selector in one of his videos, but I don't want to watch the whole entire video to locate the part I'm looking for. I could just look up the support material for that video and get more information quickly.

As Paul said, this is a really great suggestion!

I just think it's a shame, because the blog has some great written content on it. There could be something similar for the learning adventures, something to maybe take-away from the lesson?

I love the videos, but I also love written content.

@J.T. We do have video notes underneath each video, but we haven't exactly standardized what goes in there. If you have suggestions for specific videos/teachers please follow up with them.

Also, the transcript for each video is available on the same page, so you could search through there for specific keywords if you want to find something quickly.

@Joe, regarding your latest comment, is there written material missing from the blog that you would like to see? We will also link to good articles or documentation in the video notes when appropriate, but I think this is an area all of the teachers can probably improve on. I'm not sure what you mean by "something similar for the learning adventures", though. If we add blog posts and other materials as optional content on the learning adventures, would that be sufficient?
