What would the correct code be?

String name = console.readLine("name:  ");
console.printf("%s", name);
String pastTenseVerb = console.readLine("pastTenseVerb");
console.printf("%s", pastTenseVerb);
console.printf("%s really %s this coding excersize.", name, pastTenseVerb);

You have all the logic correct. Remove the other 2 console.printf's because they are interfering with what the auto checker is checking and change "excersize" to exercise. Code should be:

// I've imported java.io.Console for you.  It is stored in a variable called console for you.
String name = console.readLine("name:  ");
String pastTenseVerb = console.readLine("pastTenseVerb");
console.printf("%s really %s this coding exercise.", name, pastTenseVerb);
