10,832 PointsTroubles with Simple PHP Application Challenge task 3
The message in the final echo command only makes sense if your favorite flavor is the same as mine. Add a conditional around that final echo command that checks if the flavor variable has a value of "cookie dough." (Remember to choose carefully between using a single equal sign and a double equal sign in the check.) Preview the code and, if you have a different flavor, make sure the message disappears. And i already wrote this below.
<?php
$flavor = "cookie dough.";
echo "<p>Your favorite flavor of ice cream is ";
echo $flavor;
echo ".</p>";
if ($flavor == "cookie dough.") {
echo "<p>Randy's favorite flavor is cookie dough, also!</p>";};
?>
It doesn´t work. and i don't know what wrong? and this is link to a Challenge task (task 3) http://teamtreehouse.com/library/build-a-simple-php-application/creating-the-menu-and-footer/variables-and-conditionals
thank you.

4,531 PointsI remember getting stuck on this one too. There is technically nothing wrong with your code, but the "challenge" software is expecting the word cookie dough without the period at the end (i think this is what i did)..
$flavor = "cookie dough.";
Should now be
$flavor = "cookie dough";
And the line that reads:
if ($flavor == "cookie dough.") {
Should new be
if ($flavor == "cookie dough") {

Courses Plus Student 6,316 PointsI had the same thing happen. I just started over and could not find what I did differently, but passed it the second time. Weird.

Courses Plus Student 3,725 Pointsah that one was hard. It was confusing how to end everything with the semi colons and curly braces. Something that was not really clear by the video. Also when you got it wrong 'Oh bummer' was a very constructive feedback because it made me feel like an arse. Haha. Ohwell, got there in the end.
