Trying to choose my next track

and debating Android.. What I am wondering is is it really safe to go back in the Java water after Oracle sued Google for using the open source language? Any thoughts on that?

Try to do PHP Development, PHP is one of the most common server-side languages for websites and web services.

Good Luck!

Google and Oracle will come to some kind of agreement. Even so, Java is a good language to learn which is used in the enterprise as well as Android and is a good starting point to go and learn other languages.

Thanks for the feedback folks!

I just have some app ideas that I have wanted to explore with Android but this whole Java API drama has made me hesitant. A big part of which I am sure is my ignorance about what Java was as intended as Open Source before and where it is now with Oracle. I think I am going to explore Ruby On Rails and Javascript for now.

Thanks again.
