Two version of CSS courses.

There are two versions of CSS courses, one in web design and one in front-end web development. The web development is the latest. I don't know which one to take. If i take the latest one in front-end web devlopment, I might miss out the frequently asked questions that people have asked in web design version but at the same time the latest one is up to date. So please tell me what to pick.

There is a lot of overlap between the two tracks. I had the same question and ended up choosing to do web design first to knock out the majority of the CSS that is common between the two. Then I plan on reviewing the areas that are different in the web development track once I get there.

TTH (Team TreeHouse) was smart when they made the tracks because you never have to repeat shared content. Taking Web Design first knocks out a bunch of the CSS/HTML courses and unlocks the rest of the content in Web Development.

The content in each is similar. I would take whichever one fits the track you are wanting to learn first. I have already finished the web design track and CSS deep dive that was included. Now I am working through the front-end development and the CSS is a review. I'm sure it would work the other way around if you chose to do the front-end first and then the web design later :)

Hi Raja,

Why not take both?

I am in the Web Design Track. But as I work through those courses, I'm also exploring and working through many of the other Treehouse classes not in my track, even if they are beyond my current skill level.

I find that repeat viewings of the videos, and exploring all areas taught on Treehouse, enhances my understanding of design and development from all angles. Going through CSS Basics is helping me to better understand CSS Foundations. .

Good luck!

Renee

No, it is a waste of time taking both courses at once. But you are right if you know a topic on the course you can skip it and watch the ones you don't already know.
