TypeCastChecker 2 of 2 question.

The second question is confusing and I cannot get past it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. the first if is right (from question 1) but I don't understand how to set the second condition for is obj is a BlogPost.

Now make sure that if a com.example.BlogPost is passed in for obj that you then cast it to a BlogPost. Return the results of the getTitle method on the newly type-casted BlogPost instance.

public static String getTitleFromObject(Object obj) { // Fix this result variable to be the correct string. String result = ""; if (obj instanceof String) { result = (String) obj; } if (obj instanceof BlogPost) { obj = BlogPost; } return result;

com/example/BlogPost.java
package com.example;

import java.util.Date;

public class BlogPost {
    private String mAuthor;
    private String mTitle;
    private String mBody;
    private String mCategory;
    private Date mCreationDate;

    public BlogPost(String author, String title, String body, String category, Date creationDate) {
      mAuthor = author;
      mTitle = title;
      mBody = body;
      mCategory = category;
      mCreationDate = creationDate;
    }

    public String getAuthor() {
      return mAuthor;
    }

    public String getTitle() {
      return mTitle;
    }

    public String getBody() {
      return mBody;
    }

    public String getCategory() {
      return mCategory;
    }

    public Date getCreationDate() {
      return mCreationDate;
    }
}
TypeCastChecker.java
import com.example.BlogPost;

That looks great. All you need now is to cast the obj as BlogPost, instead of creating a new BlogPost. Like this:

BlogPost blogPost = (BlogPost) obj;
result = blogPost.getTitle();

As you know, the issue is with this line:

 obj = BlogPost;

The method it's in is named getTitleFromObject so consider what the method is supposed to do - get the title from the object. The goal is to call getTitle, but first you need to cast obj as BlogPost to call getTitle.

Im getting closer (I think) but still cannot get it right.

java public static String getTitleFromObject(Object obj) { // Fix this result variable to be the correct string. String result = ""; if (obj instanceof String) { result = (String) obj; } if (obj instanceof BlogPost) { obj = new BlogPost; result = obj.getTitle(); } return result; }
