Unable to Clear Step 2 of Challenge: Cannot find error in code.

Instructions ask to create a variable named"my_plugin_username" and assign it the escaped value of the "my_plugin_username" input field.

Here is my code:

$my_plugin_username = esc_html($_POST['my_plugin_username']);

Error message: You should pass the posted form element my_plugin_username into esc_html in order to sanitize it.

Am I not doing that?

I'm having the exact same issue.

function my_plugin_options_page() {

    if (!current_user_can('manage_options')) {
        wp_die('You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.');
    }

  if( isset( $_POST['my_plugin_hidden_field'] ) ){

    $hidden_field = esc_html( $_POST['my_plugin_hidden_field'] );// remove this line.

    $my_plugin_username = esc_html( $_POST['my_plugin_username'] );

  }

}

After reading other students posts with the same issue, I've manaed to clear that code challenge by removing the $hidden_field line all together.

Aaron,

Your code looks correct to me. Are you placing it inside of the if statement that you created in the previous step?
