Unable to get childElements of li

I am trying to get the children of LI which has 3 buttons each, but when I do console.log as in snapshot https://w.trhou.se/lqib6fh8wp on line 22. It returns empty. Am I doing it wrong or something else?

The list item buttons are added in the loop that starts at line 42.

Before then (including on line 22) the list items do not have any buttons.
