Ruby Installing Rails on Windows

unable to install ruby on my PC Windows 10

getting this error:

C:\RubyDevKit>gem install rails --version 5.0.0 ERROR: Could not find a valid gem 'rails' (= 5.0.0), here is why: Unable to download data from https://rubygems.org/ - SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed (https://api.rubygems.org/specs.4.8.gz)

It looks like your Windows system's SSL certificates might be outdated. Start at this link, and follow the links for directions to fix it. Keep notes on what you're doing as you go (I would recommend saving screenshots or copying and pasting from your terminal). If you encounter problems, please reply to this thread with the error message you're getting, and what you've tried so far.

As an absolute last resort, you could do as this Stack Overflow answer suggests. But this solution is insecure, and should be avoided if possible.

Thanks , i ended up uninstalling everything i had installed previously; i ended up installing Ruby 2.4.4 with the dev kit; then i was able to install Rails 5.0.0 and seemed to be working just fine; will this cause anymore issues while im following the videos?

Adam Cassano The version of Rails is more important than the version of Ruby; you should be fine. If you run into trouble, please copy the error message you get and paste it into a forum post.
