Hey Eddie.

You don't need that middle line initialScore = ++initialScore. The challenge says to "add 1 point to their score using the increment operator and assign the result to a constant named totalScore." The key word in the challenge is "and" ... so it wants you to add the point and assign the value in a single line.

So, your on the right track, and have the operator on the right side, just not quite in the right place. Corrected code for Task one:

var initialScore = 8
let totalScore = ++initialScore
