Uploading .gitignore to repo

Hi, I made a .gitignore like this https://github.com/mahassan/gitignore but i don't know how to upload it to my repo. so it ignore these files.Can anyone help?

Assuming you are properly connected to your remote branch, it is the same as adding any other new file:

git add .gitignore

Then commit as usual:

git commit -m "adding .gitignore file" .gitignore

It tells me "Nothing to commit", can you step ways from connecting to last one?

Hi Ammar, What output do you get when you run:

git status .gitignore
